Farm Animals, Sheep, Goats, Horses

#Farm #animal care could be a real challenge. From the outside modern world, it might seem very strange. And people who do farm animal care may seem odd. When a person decides to become a #farmer, she has to change personal habits completely. Daily duties have to meet the animal's needs. You do not work 24 hours without a break but you do not have a typical day off. Forget New Years evening and other holidays. Whether you decide to take care of #horses, #goats, #sheep, alpaca or llama, animals need good treatment.

First of all, you have to provide space to protect animals from rainy and snowy days - it is usually called a barn. A barn is for animals, the same as a house is for people. So would you like to live in a dirty house? I suppose no. Do not forget to keep barns clean and ventilated.

Animals need to be active, some of them more, others less, but keep in mind that. For instance, horses need to walk at least 2 km each day due to their digestion system.

Goats are specific since they need leaves and tree peel in to get all vitamins needed. Be prepared to go to the woods every day if you do not have one at your property. If we speak about characters, goats are lively, very intelligent and stubborn. Goats are usually kept because they give you milk. But there are also some species like e.g. Boer goat, which farmers keep only for a meet.

Sheep are a bit calmer. Their character differs from lively horses and "wild" goats. Sometimes keeping goats and sheep together is very useful. Goats are more capable to find proper food and sheep can be healthier if they follow the goats.

No matter what species we domesticate, we must provide enough food - hay and e.g. corn in case of cold and rainy days. There are regular vaccinations, which each farmer must proceed alone or through veterinary. Vaccination prevents some common diseases.

If treated with love, animals give you more and more, so go start farming if you are the animal lover.
